Processing and obtaining the N.I.E. (Tax Identification Number for Foreigners).
If you have decided to buy a house in Spain but you are not currently residing in the country you should be aware that you will need the following requirements:
- Obtain the NIE (Foreigners Identification Number). It is a personal and unique number, essential to carry out any transaction in Spain. This document is obtained at the police station. URBINA LEGAL will assist you in applying for the NIE in due course.
For this we will need you to grant us a power of attorney before a notary so that we can carry out all the necessary steps to request and obtain your NIE number; or even in the same power of attorney you can include faculties so that in your name we can carry out the whole purchase operation. - Open a bank account in Spain. It is not mandatory, but it is recommended for depositing funds, receiving or sending transfers, etc. These accounts may incur a number of fees, so it is advisable to compare different banks to choose the most convenient option.
